Our vision is for a small school community with an individualized approach to preparing scholars for college, career, and life. Our middle school program is designed to identify skill gaps and then to work diligently to close them, so that all scholars are at or above grade level by the end of 8th grade. Our high school scholars are expected to engage in our dual enrollment program with the outcome of a high school diploma and a full year of college credits, for free upon high school graduation. The work is hard, but we believe all scholars are capable and we will provide all the supports necessary for that success.
ACCS is a grades 6-12, Public Charter School in Fall River, MA
At Argosy Collegiate Charter School, our mission is to equip scholars with the academic foundation and character skills necessary to be successful in college, career, and life.
Argosy Collegiate is a tuition-free, college preparatory, public charter school that was founded to provide this and future generations of children in Fall River an opportunity to pursue an educational pathway toward college and career readiness in a small school environment. Our enrichment programs are building and steadily include courses in financial literacy, sports/health/wellness, collegiate skills, and the arts. Argosy Collegiate is built upon the best practices of excellent charter schools in Massachusetts. We are in approaching year four of a seven year growth plan enrolling grades 6 through 9 for the 2017-18 school year. We are not selective in the enrollment process and we are open to ALL LEARNERS.
We expect scholars to work hard and to be nice. We expect scholars to embody our DREAM Values. We expect scholars to arrive to school on time, in uniform, prepared for the day, and to do the work we ask of them. We expect them to make mistakes and more importantly, we expect them to learn from those mistakes, as mistakes are a critical part of the learning process. Every one of our scholars begins in a different place academically. Our collective job is to identify each scholar's skill gaps and to work together, with a sense of urgency, to close those gaps. The work is hard, and we believe, well worth the effort.
We expect parents to be engaged and communicative with us through this journey of educating their scholars and preparing the scholars for a life of learning, employment, wellness, and contributing to their families and communities. Again, the work is hard, but if we do not invest in our youth, if we do not push them, support them, and guide them toward preparation for the real world, then we are not doing our jobs as parents and as educators. It is our responsibility and the civil rights movement of this generation. A high quality education should be available to ALL children - for free. Argosy is committed to providing an excellent education to all of our scholars.
We will work relentlessly to prepare scholars for college, career, and life. We are open to all grade eligible, Massachusetts scholars giving priority to Fall River applicants. We are open to all students including students with disabilities, English as a Second Language Learners, and students with high needs. We believe that education is the pathway to opportunity and we provide everything within our capacity to support every scholar, every day.
Any applications received will be held for our February 2018 lottery for the 2018-19 school year, outside of any immediate opening we may have for this year's 9th grade.
